Day 26 - I Think That I Shall Never See A Poem As Lovely As a Tree

Today the roads were very smooth;
we didn't get into a "rut" even once!

We left in the cold with a promise of rain . . . all day!  But it was a gentle rain and not bad for riding.  We made several stops to stretch, “rest” and have lunch.
Off to Wendy's for lunch.
See the little "stick" on the
left- it connects me to the
Internet, no matter where we are!
The ride was a quiet one with me working on “fixing” the blog entries of the past and Davis concentrating on the traffic and signs (oh no, we took 1B instead of 1A, now we’ll have to go 8 miles until the next exit; that’s 16 mile = one gallon + of precious diesel).
Are we there yet?  Are we there yet?
Precious is not sure about all this traveling - she has no idea where her crate is (it’s in PODS #2) and she does not like all the big trucks (the noise) we have to pull in with at rest stops; poor dog - she doesn’t understand all this strangeness when every night is a different place to pee. At least her bed is always under the table with us, barefooted, eating and laughing above her.
I know, just give me a few
more weeks and I'll be dressed
just like you, only better!

Today I concentrated on the trees as we were going along.
You just can't get a decent trim
any more.
Baby, the wind must blow . .
Trees are one of my favorite creations of God.  I love trees.  They are so strong and resilient and wonderful.  Their patterns and different colors and designs are an eyeful to this artistically challenged nature-Today I concentrated on the trees as we were going along. .
What beautiful art!

Please feel free to skip over all the pictures I took (just
And a Partridge in a Birch Tree.
know that I took over 76 pictures and only published these few!).

Ok, I'm dressed, let's party!
Don't look; we're having a
bad hair day!
I don't need leaves to look
gorgeous!

I’ve already written this to Libby, so she can skip this paragraph:
Let's see, if it's Friday this
must be Ohio.
Davis was planning
several scenarios for our trip after Madison,WI, and he came to Normal, IL.  We could stay near Normal, but having never been near normal, I ask him to plan another route, making sure not to leave us staying anywhere near normal!  (I know - groan- I won’t quit my day job; no, wait, I don’t have a day job!  I’m unemployed, I mean, I’m retired - not quite the same, but still no pay check!).
When you're retired you can
spend time taking pictures of
yourself taking pictures of
your computer screen, that needs
a good cleaning, I might add.

Tomorrow morning is a totally different challenge this trip.  We have electricity and water, but there are no bath houses so we will have to take our showers in the  Bambi.  I’ll show pictures tomorrow (no, not of us taking showers, for heavens sake; we’re grandparent’s ages!) of the shower - you’d be surprised at how efficient this little 19’ home is!.
Tonight it’s left over macaroni and cheese with salad - yum!  And a movie (“Duplicity” with Julia Roberts).
Please e-mail if you are following and haven’t written yet - we love to hear from all the folks that have meant so much to us (don’t get me started crying again).
Dana, if you are there and Alexis is following, please let me know so I can send her a special message - I miss seeing her grow.  Thanks, friend.
I’m going to sign off so we can start the movie.  I send love and hugs to Judy tonight (we both got cuts, and survived) please remember that you are the one who changed my life for the better 30some years ago an I’ll never forget you.  (D..., I’m gonna start crying again).
Shalom,  Heather . . .
