Day 11 - Make New Friends But Keep the Old, One is Silver and the Other's Gold.

We miss you Black Mountain
and Montreat.

We both slept exceptionally well last night - it was cold, but the bed was warm and cozy.  Off we 2 went "on the road again."  We passed by Black Mountain (we have camped up there for over 2 decades) and then we passed the Eastern Continental Divide, about 2500 feet in elevation.  Davis says that is the point at which, technically, water flows East to the Atlantic and West to the Mississippi.

We arrived in Winston-Salem at 12:30 to have lunch with our friend, John; nice to catch up with you, John, and thanks for the lunch!!

We're glad we found you, Janine.

We love you Peg Carter

Then went in search of Davis' cousin, Janine.  Glad you're on board with us on the Blog; make those plans to RV across the US to see us!
Finally, for dessert we visited our dear friend, Peg (who is the Grandmother of a wonderful 23 month-old boy and his almost 3 months old, beautiful triplet sisters! (Those are some busy, tired parents!!)

Getting to know you.

Precious thanks you and Reagan for the run about the yard - she really needed that!

The colors of early Spring - they rival the colors of Fall.
You know folks flock to the mountains in fall to see the Autumn colors, but the colors of Spring are just as spectacular.  I've tried to give you a taste of the variety of greens, rusts, yellow and pinks we saw today; you may have to copy and paste it to your desk top to enlarge it to see the variety (remembering that I am NOT at all artistic!).
I didn't fix enough dinner for all
these folks!

We made it to Greensboro, NC and are enjoying Hagan Stone Park (hey, being 63 paid off - we saved $2.00!).

Dinner tonight will be nibbles due to the big eats of the day!  I can't grow out of the few clothes I have with me or we are in big trouble!  Davis runs his extra calories off and I'm quite jealous as my walking does not seem to produce the same results.

That's quite enough for now as all of you have lives you need to return to.  I will say a special hey to all my friends at West Carteret and Newport Elementary. (I need a "kid fix" - I haven't spoken to an 8 or 9 year old in too long!)

Shalom, Heather . . .
