Day 22 - One If By Land, Two If At the Mall

Today began with a trip to Walden Pond and Thoreau’s home there.

We thought 19’ was small, but he lived in 15 X 10!

Tiny but cozy.
All the comforts of home
(and what a cute guy cooking!)

I don't know what it is, Ralph but we both
have it on our hands; and yes, I know the
fashion police are looking for me.

One if by land and two if by . . . dang it, I've been
captured.   'Yall go on without me.

The day is sunny and bright, but my goodness it was cold.Today is a holiday in Massachusetts as Paul Revere Day (actually the 19th) so it is very fortuitous that we followed the Minute Men’s trail and found the spot where Paul Revere was captured.

All these woods used to be farmers' fields.
There were many short stone walls in the woods there and we were told that they were originally built by farmers as they cleared their fields and then used by soldiers on both sides for shields during a battle.  It became easier to picture what those brave young men went through for our freedom.

An interesting note:  beside several sections of the “Battle Road” were markers of some graves of British soldiers.
We call her "St. Ann", for good reason!

This afternoon it was off to meet our friend Ann at the Burlington Mall after she had worked the Boston Marathon.

If you two don't stop having so much fun, you'll
have to walk 10' behind me!
We had a chi latte and then “goofed around” the mall like a bunch of kids!

Here's a toast to all of you that are
"along for the ride."
Ann is following our Blog and came with wonderful gifts.  For Davis there were homemade cookies and delectable chocolates, for me an angel pin and a bottle of Italian (drum roll) Limoncello - oh my!

She also bought water from the Head Waters of the Jordan and soil from the Holy Lands along with book marks from Israel.  What a thoughtful friend - thanks St. Ann (our nickname for her).
Who is giving whom a bath here?
Tonight we three had a great dinner at Chili’s and headed back “home” to give the dog a bath.  We tried to get one at Pet Smart but they were too busy so it’s a do-it-yourself job (actually I only acted as gofer - Davis did all the work).  Tomorrow we start our journey West.

Thanks for keeping us up on the remodeling, Tom; we wish we were there helping you make all those decisions.
Curve not gonna work - back to the drawing board!
Phone out of battery, me out of energy , no time to correct any errors I may have made; you’ll just have to overlook them . . .  night all.
Shalom,  Heather . . .
