We awoke to a perfect day! Davis went for a run (being at this elevation makes it more of a challenge for a sea-level runner); I took Precious for a walk and then we were off. We traveled about 170 miles today.
It seemed flat for a while, however, we were climbing up the whole time. Then the landscape began to show some topography; hills, plateaus and finally the mountains.

Wow! 7,000 miles and we're still in love
with each other! |
 |
| All the tubes gushes out when we open them! |
We have now passed the 7,000 mile mark and did so at about 7,000 feet up! Amazing. We realized fully today how far we have left North Carolina behind and it made us a little sad.
The clouds were awesome! Remember the last time you said, “Hey, that cloud looks just like a . . . ?“ I did a lot of that today. (see very bottom)

| Now we can be twins! |
We stopped to eat at “Clines Corner” on Rt. 66. They had delicious Mexican food - we have enough left over for tonight! Oh, and we bought new hats!!! Do you like [our] hats? (forgive me, Dr Suess).

| Again, we are the smallest thing around. |
We are staying in a very nice Good Sam park way up on a ridge in Santa Fe. Our elevation at the campground is 6400 feet, but Santa Fe is 7000 feet, which they will tell you, is 1500 higher than Denver (not sure why that is important)! The temperature has been in the 60’s all day and the sun was warm and comfortable. We are again the smallest thing in sight (“site”) - lots of monsters all around us! Some of these look larger than a full size Grey Hound Bus and have an amazing amount of space in them. Our new home is not much bigger than some of these guys!

| We're still following it, or it is following us! |
I wish the pictures did the view justice. I have more pictures than story today.
 |
| Again, miles and miles of miles and miles. |
 |
| Leaning tower of Texas. |
Hey Rosy and Eddie! This is a place I think you guys would really like. The weather is wonderful, the views are great and they have blue grass music!!!!
Hey Ann and Everette! Hope this finds you well and happy. Davis is going to miss seeing you at the basketball games. Hey to another Ann and her Ashley! We said a prayer today for the two of you.

Someone contact Sherlock, we've found
Moriarty - his nemesis! |
Keep on following Ed! Glad to hear from you.
Someone tell me how things are going at NES!!! I guess the “blitz” has begun full time. Prayers for success go your way. And WCHS - how are things?
Hope everyone is having good weather, great health and wonderful luck!
Shalom, Heather . . .
(yesterday's question: "What is lighter than air, Stronger than Whiskey and as cheap as dirt?" Their answer: "Barbed Wire!" Interesting!
Now for those clouds:
 |
| Can you see the cartoon dog? |

 |
| ...angry dog head |
 |
| ...running dog |
 |
| ...funny dog |
 |

I love the cloud pics---kind of like Rorschach's ink blots. But don't worry, I won't try to psychoanalyze your hamster or monster sightings! :)) I went to Santa Fe when I was 19 and remember how beautiful it was and all of the Georgia O'Keefe references everywhere! Have fun!
