Day 63 - 5/29/11 “Sea Food and More Art Buys” (our last night in Paso Robles, CA)

Our first glimpse of the Pacific Ocean.

Chilly this morning.  We planned “a day at the beach” and headed southwest.
We first stopped at Cayucos Beach and then to Morro Bay.
That looks just like it could be Atlantic Beach!

This is Morro Rock - it's an awesome sight (and site)!
Maybe we "otta" eat here!

We had fish and chips and then went to the Arts’ Fair in their Town Square.

This was a smaller one than yesterday but I managed to fall in love with two pieces.
Lots of talented folks here as well.

Glare is from the plastic it's in.

Again there's a glare.

One is an enhanced photo art piece and the other is a small birds-in-trees water color by a nice Asian gentleman.

We can’t wait to visit the local artists’ that work in and around Amity!

So far no sconces, Tom, and no copper wall plaques for the outside, yet.  We’ll continue our hunt.
Shalom,  Heather . . .

This I've got to see!
The trip to the beach was about 25 miles.  Up, over, and down the Coastal Range, and a very impressive sight on the seaward side.  Finally, after 9125 miles, the Pacific Ocean.

Ok, now I've seen Harmony - cute!
In Amity we will be about the same distance from the Pacific and we plan on spending some time there.
These creatures are everywhere. Some are working,
some are resting.

Oil and oranges, living in harmony (Not Harmony).
Huh?  What do we do now?
The west coast is not near as developed as the east coast

so there are long
stretches of rocks and small beaches with little villages tucked in between.

The breeze is strong and pretty cool...  and the water is cold also.  The surfers all have wetsuits.
See you tomorrow!  Shalom,  Davis . . .

  1. What beautiful country! You are officially west-coasters now! Neat to see pics that look more like home. We can't wait for you to get here. Enjoy the Cali and Oregon coasts!
