Day 23 - A Day Late and Glad of it!

As you are probably aware of by now, I think I’ve discovered the way to inbed the pictures in the dialogue.  It will take me some time to redo the earlier entries, but I plan to do so over the next couple of days.  Fingers crossed.
Rain, rain go away, come again some other day.
The day started off with misty rain, but it was warmer than yesterday; a good day to be on the road again.  We think this is more like an Oregon day and we didn’t mind it at all.
At our first “rest” stop Davis bought the most expensive coke he’s ever had; 8.5 oz for $2.07!  It was in a can that was shaped like the bottle, maybe that’s why it cost so much (let me see, that’s over $30 a gallon - maybe we need to stop complaining about the cost of fuel)!
This is one "can" I'm keeping!

Looks promising.
Davis saw a sign for Maggie McFly’s diner, so we decided to try and find it.  Wow - what great onion rings and chili!  Someone had a ball decorating this place!

Yes, that's a full size old World War I bi-wing plane!  This place is a real trip!

Not much else to report - rain - more rain - and still more rain.
We made it as far as Milford, PA, right on the border with NY, right off of Interstate 84.  Nice place to spend a rainy night.  Hope for more pictures tomorrow.
We think we are back in the Poconos, elevation reached 1247 and our ears kept popping.
Interesting news item from St. Ann:  “BURLINGTON -- Police responded in force today to a report of a man with a rifle at the Burlington Mall [where we met Ann yesterday], evacuating shoppers and calling in a SWAT team as worried workers locked themselves into stores. But it turned out that the man was only carrying an umbrella.
Police raced to the mall, blocking off the parking lot as four helicopters hovered in the sky. The North East Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council SWAT team, composed of officers from area communities, was summoned."
FYI:  the Burlington Mall was used as the setting for the Kevin James comedy movie "Paul Blart: Mall Cop."  Cute movie.
Sometimes it’s best to be a day late and a dollar short!
Night all.
Shalom,  Heather . . .
